A boutique for the way Mauritius dresses

Smartwear sits on Sir William Newton Street in Port Louis. The floor holds international tailoring beside Indian occasionwear, because that is how the island actually dresses: a blazer on Thursday, a Banarasi on Sunday, a suit when the wedding week begins.

The edit is small on purpose. Cloth is chosen for heat, for photographs, and for the second wearing. Prices are in Mauritian rupees and written in full. If a size is between the chart and the ceremony, the atelier answers on WhatsApp.
